What Is Perioral Lines Filler?

Perioral lines filler softens perioral lines — sometimes called lip lines or smoker’s lines — the fine vertical lines that form above and below the lips. They can develop with age, sun exposure, smoking or repeated movements such as drinking through a straw.

A very soft hyaluronic acid filler, placed superficially in tiny amounts, can soften these lines and improve the smoothness of the skin around the mouth. The same approach can be used for other fine, static lines elsewhere on the face.

Is It Right for You?

This treatment tends to suit people with fine lines around the mouth that remain visible at rest. Results are often best as part of a combined approach — for example with a skin booster, a lip flip or gentle lip border definition — and good sun protection.

The Process

Your Treatment Journey

Consultation

We assess the lines, lip shape and skin quality, and agree whether filler alone or a combined approach will give the most natural result.

Treatment

Numbing cream is applied, then very small amounts of soft filler are placed along each line. Treatment takes 30–45 minutes.

Recovery

Mild swelling, tenderness and possible bruising for a few days. Avoid straws, hot drinks, exercise and alcohol for 24 hours.

Results & Aftercare

Results are visible straight away and settle over around two weeks.

Maintenance

Results typically last six to nine months. Returning is your choice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this make my lips bigger?

No. Very small amounts are placed in the lines themselves, not to add lip volume.

How long does it last?

Typically six to nine months.

Can other fine lines be treated the same way?

Often, yes. Soft filler can be used for other fine static lines — we will advise at consultation.

Does it hurt?

The area is sensitive, but numbing cream and anaesthetic in the filler make it manageable.

What else helps lip lines?

Skin boosters, a lip flip, sun protection and good skincare can all support the result.

Is it reversible?

Yes, hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved if needed.
